New Delhi, Sept 13: Ailing Congress President Sonia Gandhi is still recuperating at 10, Janpath since her return from the US six days ago after a surgery for an undisclosed ailment.
Sonia Gandhi, say party sources, is yet to meet any senior Congress leader including Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh as the doctors have advised her complete rest.
Neither the Gandhi family nor the Congress have revealed the exact ailment she is suffering from.
Even senior cabinet ministers are in the dark about her ailment and the subsequent treatment.
Those in the know are reluctant to share facts with the media as they are afraid of a leak. Meanwhile, a senior Congress leader alleged that some of the opposition leaders are spreading baseless rumours about their leader's health. Congress sources say that Sonia Gandhi is being briefed regularly about the political situation and there is no need to worry about her health.
The ailing Congress president is yet to appear before media since she went to the US on a secret visit for surgery."She is not meeting party colleagues as doctors have advised her complete rest", said a senior Congress leader.
