New Delhi, Oct 25: Senior IAS officer S B Agnihotri has been appointed as Director General (Acquisition) in the Ministry of Defence.
Agnihotri, a 1980 batch IAS officer of Orissa cadre, is currently Additional Secretary and Financial Adviser, Department of Agriculture and Cooperation.
The Appointments Committee of Cabinet has approved appointment of Afzal Amanullah, IAS (BH:79), currently in the cadre, as Additional Secretary, Department of Consumer Affairs, Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution in the vacancy of Pankaj Agarwal, IAS (UP:78), a statement from the Department of Personnel and Training said today.
The ACC has also approved appointment of Ashok Sahu, IES (75), as Secretary General, National Human Rights Commission following superannuation of Rajiv Sharma, IAS (RJ:76).
Whereas, the Committee has cancelled orders of appointment of Arun Kumar Jain, IAS (NL:77), Adviser, Inter State Council Secretariat, Ministry of Home Affairs as Secretary General, National Human Rights Commission, it said.
