New Delhi: The Aero India show 2015 which begins in Bengaluru from February 18 to 22, will be open to firms which are blacklisted. The theme of Show is “Make in India”.
The officials from the Ministry of Defence said that there will be no restriction on blacklisted or tainted firms from attending the Aero India because there is no point in stopping them from participating in the show.
Sources in the Defence ministry said that the government is contemplating in making some changes in the procedure of buying defence equipments from foreign vendors. It could do a rethink on the lowest bidder (L1) selection model. The successful bidder in L1 model is selected on the basis of technical compliant with the qualitative requirements needed.
Ahead of the next round of talks with US on defence cooperation the official said that India will be looking to acquire those technologies which are ‘transformative' and will give the country an edge over others.
This time in the India biggest aero show around 600 companies are going to take part and USA is the biggest participant among all the countries
