Chennai, Jan 13: BJP leader L K Advani and Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi will be here tomorrow, fuelling speculation that they may meet Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa.
The two BJP leaders, who share a good rapport with Jayalalithaa, will be here to attend the 42nd anniversary celebrations of Tamil political weekly ‘Thuglaq' edited by noted political commentator ‘Cho' S Ramaswamy, according to the magazine.
Cho is believed to have good equations with the two leaders and also Jayalalithaa, a former ally of BJP.
The meeting between the BJP leaders and Jayalalithaa, if it materialises, will be the first after the AIADMK supremo recently asserted that her party would play a key role in the formation of the next government after the general elections due in 2014.
However, there was no confirmation from both BJP as well as the AIADMK side about the possible meeting.
Jayalalithaa's rapport with Modi is well-known as he had attended the swearing-in ceremony of the AIADMK chief as Chief Minister after her party's resounding win in the April 13 assembly polls last year.
She had returned the favour by deputing two of her representatives for the three-day Sadbhavana fast which Modi undertook last year in Gujarat.
Jayalalithaa, who is believed to be nurturing ambitions of a significant role for herself in national politics, had last month asked her partymen to prepare for the Parliamentary polls, saying AIADMK would be in a position to determine the next Prime Minister.
Advani had also congratulated Jayalalithaa soon after her party's sweep in the assembly polls.
