Nagpur, Sept 21: Senior BJP leader L K Advani held discussions here today with the top RSS leadership on his proposed rathyatra against corruption.
“I am here to meet RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat and other functionaries to discuss my proposed rathyatra against corruption,” Advani told reporters at Nagpur airport.
“Since Bhagwat and other leaders are not scheduled to visit Delhi in the immediate future, I decided to meet them in Nagpur,” he said.
Advani later also met BJP president Nitin Gadkari, who is recovering following a surgery.
Advani will begin his yatra against corruption from Lok Nayak Jaiprakash Narayan's birthplace Sitabdiara in Bihar's Saran district.
The RSS leadership had expressed reservations over the yatra saying that the senior BJP leader should have first taken the parent organisation into confidence before announcing his yatra.
The RSS leadership is reported to be insisting on Advani to stop making fresh claim to become the prime ministerial candidate again, since the 2009 Lok Sabha poll debacle. PTI
