Mumbai: The special Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act (MCOCA) court yesterday granted bail to Akhil Momin, arrested in the 2006 Aurangabad arms haul case.
The order was passed by Special judge G T Kadri.
There are a total of 22 accused in the case, including LeT operative and key plotter of 26/11 Mumbai terror attack Sayed Zabiuddin Ansari alias Abu Jundal.
“Momin was granted bail on the ground of parity as some other accused have already been released on bail,” special public prosecutor Vaibhav Bhagade told PTI.
On May 8, 2006, a Maharashtra ATS team chased a Tata Sumo and an Indica car on Chandwad-Manmad highway near Aurangabad and arrested three terror suspects and allegedly seized 30 kg of RDX, 10 AK-47 rifles and 3,200 bullets.
The court had framed charges against the arrested accused last August.
