Begusarai (Bihar): Rajni Yadav, the wife of Sub-Inspector (SI) Abhay Prasad Yadav abducted by Maoists in Lakhisarai, on Saturday threatened to commit suicide if her husband was not rescued.
"I am left with no option but to commit suicide if my husband is not rescued from Maoists," she said at her native village Shahpur Kamal in Begusarai district. 41-year-old Rajni, mother of four children, said if something untoward happened to her husband "who will look after her and the children?"
A distraught SI Yadav's wife vented her anger at the state government for "lack" of adequate efforts for the rescue of the abducted cops.
The state government has simply not done enough to get the policemen, including her husband, rescued from the custody of Maoists, Yadav, who had spent two fruitless days in the state capital making pleas with the authorities on the issue, alleged.
On the trauma that her children were going through, she said the children may take up guns themselves and become Naxalites if anything happened to their father.
Meanwhile, the irate natives of Shahpur Kamal village blocked traffic on the highway for the second day running to protest against the state government's alleged inaction in rescuing the abducted cops. PTI
