Delhi Minister and AAP MLA Saurabh Bharadwaj on Friday claimed that Delhi Chief Minister and AAP national convenor Arvind Kejriwal might be arrested in the next few days if the party continues its decision to ally with Congress. Bharadwaj was addressing a press conference in the national capital. He also informed that the AAP-Congress alliance would not be affected even if Kejriwal is arrested.

He said, "The question is, why is the Central Government showing such haste? Even the BJP people are telling us that if an alliance (with Congress) is forged, Arvind Kejriwal be jailed and that if we want to see him outside there is just one way - that Arvind Kejriwal doesn't become a part of INDIA Alliance with Congress."

"It is clear that the BJP is very nervous. It thinks that if AAP and Congress come together, wherever an alliance is formed, in whichever state - it will be difficult for BJP, difficult for it to form a government," he further said.

AAP MLA Atishi Marlena said, "ED notice has sent notice to Kejriwal seven times. They are not able to arrest Kejriwal through ED, so now preparations are on to arrest him through CBI. We are getting concrete information. We are being told that we will not form an alliance. Do it. We are not afraid of your threats, we have come wrapped in a shroud." AAP MP Sandeep Pathak said, "Our alliance will be announced together, everything is at the final stage."

Just a day earlier, Atishi Marlena made the same claims in a press conference. During a press conference, Atishi also alleged that the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) is likely to issue a notice to Kejriwal either on Saturday or Sunday.

AAP-Congress alliance

According to the sources, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has agreed with the grand old party on seats in Delhi, Gujarat, Assam and Haryana. After several rounds of talks between the two parties' leaders, an agreement over the number of seats to be contested by them has been agreed upon, sources added.

AAP national convenor and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal said on Wednesday that the talks over the alliance were delayed and hinted at fresh developments in the next one or two days.

As per the deal, AAP will contest elections on four seats and Congress on three seats in Delhi. Whereas in Gujarat, Congress will give two seats to AAP, while in Haryana and Assam, an agreement has been made on 1 seat each. I.N.D.I.A bloc partners Samajwadi Party (SP) and Congress on Wednesday finalised the seat-sharing in Uttar Pradesh for the upcoming Lok Sabha polls, to be held in April-May this year.

The Samajwadi Party along with other alliance partners will contest on 63 seats while Congress has been alloted 17. In Madhya Pradesh, Congress will contest 28 out of 29 seats, SP will try its strength on one seat.
