Kolkata, Jan 31 : Nearly 65 girls of a private madrasa in Sitakundu near Baruipur, south 24-pargans in West Bengal today suddenly fell ill after having their mid day meal.
The girls were rushed to the nearby subdivisional hospital.
Mohammed Naseem Ali Mollah, secretary of the private madrasa said at around 9.30 am, the girls were served boiled rice and dal, after which some of the girls started complaining of stomach pain and giddiness.
The madrasa authorities immediately ferried them to the hospital. Most of the students were from classes 4 to 9.
The madrasa is a privately run school. Local police is investigating and the food supplier and the cook have been summoned to the police station.
