Himsagar Express is the second longest running train in terms of distance and time.

It runs from Kanyakumari in Tamil Nadu to Jammu Tawi in Jammu & Kashmir.

It covers 3715 km in 70 hours at a speed of 53 km per hour.

The train transverses twelve states -- Jammu & Kashmir, Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Kerala and Tamil Nadu -- halting at a total of 72 stations.

It runs weekly.

The train halts for 150 minutes at New Delhi Railway Station.

Because of its long schedule, the train needs just one rake to complete its entire run.
