Meanwhile, in Fort Aguada Central Jail, the Nigerians who had gone on hunger strike, have now started taking food, said Irene Vitoria Sequeira, jail superintendent.
The Nigerians had complained about the quality of food, but the jail superintendent, in several meetings with them, said food was being given in accordance with jail manual.
The food, she said, included mutton, eggs, bread, chapatis, jam, etc.
The Nigerians demanded that the Goa Human Rights Commission take down their statements, and their statement was recorded by GHRC members.
She said, some of the Nigerians were very polite but others were very arrogant, who wanted separate rooms and phones with STD facilities.
