New Delhi: The number of dengue cases in the national capital and its adjoining areas has risen to 40, civic officials said on Monday.
According to figures from the municipal corporations, 33 cases of dengue have been reported from the capital, and seven from the adjoining areas in the National Capital Region (NCR) in Uttar Pradesh and Haryana as of September 8.
Similarly, 31 cases of malaria have been recorded in the national capital.
The dengue mosquito, or Aedes aegypti, is the main type of mosquito that transmits dengue fever.
