New Delhi: Four persons including two policemen were injured when a group of protesters clashed with police near Manipur Bhawan here last evening.
Around 200 protesters had gathered at Manipur Bhawan in New Delhi district demonstrating against the imposition of restrictions under Section 144 of CrPC in Ukhrul district of Manipur for almost the past one month.
“When police tried to evict the protesters, they started pelting stones at the police. The windscreen of a police van was shattered in the incident.
The clash also left two policemen and two protesters injured,” said a police officer. Police had to resort to use of mild force to control the protesters.
One person was detained by the police in this connection. The protesters dispersed by 5:30 pm, police said.
