Mumbai, Apr 11: Mumbai Police Commissioner Satyapal Singh has suspended 36 police personnel, including a senior police inspector Dhananjay Bagaitkar, after they were caught on camera accepting bribes from people.




The video was shot by a social activist Kasim Khan, 50, a resident of Kamgar Nagar in Kurla.

Kasim Khan sent the video to the Home Minister R R Patil who forwarded it to the police commissioner for action.

Kasim Khan says, policemen at the police station demanded bribes from his friend Prakash Naval for allowing him  to renovate a dilapidated structure in the 66-year-old Thakkar Bappa refugee camp. The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation has  stopped the renovation.
