Moga (Punjab), May 7: 18 persons, including 11 of same family, were killed today in a truck-Tata 207 collision near Ghalkalan village at Firozpur road in Punjab's Moga.
All the persons were coming in a Tata-207 after offering prayers at Nanaksar when a speeding truck hit the camper.
The head-on collision was so intense that camper was completely destroyed.
14 out of eighteen persons riding the camper were dead on the spot whereas 4 were rushed to the hospital where they succumbed to injuries.
7 men, 6 women and 5 children were among the deceased.
The truck driver fled from the spot after the accident. Police have seized the truck papers and investigating the matter.
