New Delhi: About 13,600 building plans in South Delhi Municipal Corporation's jurisdiction have been sanctioned and released online and in most cases within a maximum period of seven days, the civic body said today.
SDMC introduced the online scheme for sanction of building plans in January 2011 and became the “first” local body in the entire country to introduce the scheme for quick sanction of building plans.
The online sanction was started in January 2011 and since then about 13,600 building plans have been sanctioned and released online and in most of the cases, the plans have been released within a maximum period of 7 days, the SDMC said in a statement.
In many cases, the plans were released in record time of 24 hours.
The other modules like completion plan, addition or alteration plans, regularisation of farm houses and other categories of building plans are also being developed online and the same are likely to be launched in the near future in a phased manner, it said.
The SDMC was recently given Skoch Order of Merit award for the best e-governance project of introducing online sanctioning of building plans.

The building plan sanction of buildings of different categories is online in the three corporations—South Delhi Municipal Corporation (SDMC), North Delhi Municipal (NDMC) Corporation and the East Delhi Municipal Corporation (EDMC).
The online scheme's unique software provides all procedures hassle-free as well as people-friendly process, without any manual endeavours for examination of the building plans as well as charges.
The scheme automatically scrutinises the drawings as per Building Byelaws 1983, Master Plan 2021 including calculations of all applicable charges and deposition thereof.
