Many of the churches and houses here were built 450 years ago. The Gothic structure was introduced by the Portuguese during the year 1510.
One of the important landmarks was the Basilica of Bom Jesus and still holds its significance. The relics of St. Francis Xavier are exhibited to the people once in 10 years.
St. Francis of Assini, Church of St. Cajatan and Church of Lady of Rosary are other important landmarks in Goa.
