Kozhikode: A jawan was killed and two persons were injured in a clash between CISF personnel and officials of Airports Authority of India at Karipur airport here tonight.
The clashes were sequel to a dispute over the entry of Airport Authroity of India officials at the airport.
Kerala Home Minister Ramesh Chennithala told PTI that one CISF jawan was killed and two others were injured in the clashes.
He said ADGP (North) Shankar Reddy has gone to the spot.
The DGP has been asked to send more forces to the airport, he said. According to police at Karipur airport, trouble started following a dispute between a CISF jawan and an AAI official, Sunny Thomas.
Thomas allegedly grabbed the gun of the jawan and the shot went off, police said.
Meanwhile, over 100 CISF personnel are standing on the runway, police said.
