Facing numerous requests for air ambulance made by Indians living abroad, External Affairs minister Sushma swaraj on Wednesday expressed her inability to accede to such demands.
Replying to a request made by a twitterati who wanted Rs 23 lakh for air ambulance, Sushma swaraj said that she lacked funds to airlift all Indian patients from abroad.
"I receive many requests for Air ambulance from Indian abroad. @RakeshK65554191 wants Rs.23 lakhs for Air ambulance.," Swaraj tweeted.
"I wish I had enough funds to airlift all Indian patients from various countries of the world," she added.
Swaraj also retweeted some of the requests she has received over the past few months.
Her comments also come in the backdrop of criticism by a twitterati after she tweeted on Monday about a crash of an air ambulance near Bangkok and the death of its pilot.
