Thunderstorm accompanied with lightning and gusty winds (40-50 kmph) at isolated places is likely to prevail over Chhatisgarh, Maharashtra, Rayalaseema, interior Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh and some parts of Tamil Nadu, said India Meteorological Department on Thursday.
The India Meteorological Department also reported that isolated places of Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi, Punjab and West Uttar Pradesh might also see dust storm with gusty winds.
"Thunderstorm/dust storm accompanied with gusty winds (30-40 kmph) at isolated places very likely over Haryana, Chandigarh and Delhi, Punjab, and West Uttar Pradesh." IMD said.
Heavy rainfall is also predicted at isolated places of northeastern states -- Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, and Tripura. Gangetic West Bengal, south interior Karnataka, Rayalaseema, Assam, and Meghalaya are likely to witness heavy rain.
The India Meteorological Department has further said that the heat wave condition will continue prevail over Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, and Vidarbha for next three-four days.
"Heatwave to severe heat wave conditions very likely to prevail over Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, and Vidarbha during next 3-4 days. Yesterday, the highest maximum temperature of 47.9°C was recorded at Nowgong, Madhya Pradesh," India Meteorological Department said.
