Prime Minister of Pakistan Imran Khan on Thursday said that the country is ready for any humanitarian assistance needed for those devastated by the floods in Kerala.
“On behalf of the people of Pakistan, we send our prayers and best wishes to those who have been devastated by the floods in Kerala, India. We stand ready to provide any humanitarian assistance that may be needed,” tweeted PM Khan.
Due to unusually high rainfall during the monsoon season, in late July, severe flooding affected Kerala state.
Over 373 people died. Large number of people were evacuated.
Heavy rains in Wayanad and Idukki have caused severe landslides and have left the hilly districts isolated.
Meanwhile, a number of countries like United Arab Emirates, Qatar and Maldives have announced assistance for flood relief operations in Kerala.
