Buldhana: We have often seen people try different measures to protest against government officials. While taking out a protest march or carrying out a dharna have been tried and tested ways of showcasing dissent, but this latest method used by locals in Maharashtra’s Buldhana district surely takes the cake.
Fed up with the continued indifference of PWD officials towards miserable roads near the Chhatrapati Shivaji Market, they staged a nagin dance to register their protest.
The agitators were angry with PWD for not taking necessary action despite several complaints.
The video shows that PWD officials were disturbed by a group of locals during a conference, who stormed into the room and moved around the table dancing.
A few seconds later, they were asked to leave by the cops, while a senior PWD official promised to look into the matter.
The protestors claimed that PWD had given a contract of road and footpath construction to a private company, who had proposed to finish the allotted work in two years. However, four years have already passed and the construction is still under process.
