Violent protests took place in Uttar Pradesh’s Kasganj on Friday after the brutal killing of three persons of a family by robbers who tied them to their beds on Thursday night and bludgeoned them to death.
The incident took place in Sahawar town near Kasganj railway station on Thursday night. The robbers stormed into the house one Balwant Singh, and tied three people to their beds and thrashed them with iron rods to death.
They also left three others of the family seriously injured, who are undergoing treatment in the hospital.
Following the incident, angry locals kept the three dead bodies on street to protest and resorted to violence, blaming the poor law and order situation in the city, and holding the local authorities responsible for the brutal deaths.
Protestors pelted stones and also resorted to firing on policemen. To control the situation, the police resorted to lathicharge.
All local markets and shops were closed in view of the violent protests.
Kasganj had witnessed violence on Republic Day during the 'Tiranga Yatra' taken out by the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) after which one person was killed and many injured.
