During a Janata Darbar session in Dehradun, Uttarakhand Chief Minister Trivendra Rawat instructed the police to immediately arrest a school teacher and ordered her suspension after she allegedly used abusive language and showed indecency in front of the CM.
Uttara Bahuguna(57), on Thursday, requested Rawat that she be transferred from the remote location. She claimed she has been posted in such areas for the last 25 years. Bahuguna is a teacher in a government primary school in Naugaon area of Uttarkashi district.
When CM dismissed her request, the lady teacher began arguing with him. Annoyed on this, Rawat shouted, “Suspend karo ise abhi (Suspend her immediately). Take her into police custody.”
On social media, CM faced criticism for losing his cool. Congress leaders of the state objected to the CM’s “rude behaviour and lack of patience”.
Rawat, after the entire episode, said that request for transfers must not be brought to a platform meant for hearing public grievances and added that all transfers of government employees will be done under the state’s Transfer Act.
CM also clarified that suspension order was issued because of school principal’s disrespectful behaviour and abusive language during the Janata Darbar.
