Uttar Pradesh: Cops stop man from trading son for his pregnant wife's treatment

The team of doctors asked Arvind Banjra to arrange for blood for her wife's treatment process. Due to poor financial condition and urgent requirement, the couple decided to sell their three-year-old son for Rs 25,000.

Uttar Pradesh police saved a child's life, and stopped the father from selling him for Rs 25,000 for his pregnant wife's treatment.The couple Arvind Banjara and Sukhdevi, resident of Barethi Darapur village in Kannauj, are parents of a four-year-old girl, Roshni and one-year-old son, Jaanu.

Sukhdevi was admitted into a district hospital after her seven months pregnancy developed complications. The team of doctors asked Arvind to arrange for blood to proceed with the treatment. 

"In the district hospital, we were told to get blood for her. They told me that she will not survive if blood is not arranged for her. I didn't have money. So, I had no other option, but to sell my child," said Arvind, as quoted by ANI. "It's not easy to sell a child, but we had no other option. We had already visited few hospitals for treatment," Sukhdevi added

The couple was stopped by police after they received information from people, they took immediate actions and stopped parents from spoiling their three-year-old child's life. Sukhdevi was suffering from bleeding which complicated her case. SHO Amod Kumar Singh of Tirwa police station said as soon as they heard about the case they decided to take care of the whole process, provide the couple with financial aid and arrange blood for her treatment, if needed.
