A 22-year-old woman has accused a BJP MLA from Bisauli seat in Uttar Pradesh’s Badaun district of raping her when she was a minor.

The police have begun the investigation following a complaint by the woman against the MLA Kushagra Sagar.

“Will commit suicide if I don't get justice, I have been receiving threats as well and have become a subject of ridicule in society,” the woman said today.

The complainant – daughter of Sagar's domestic help – said that the lawmaker had threatened to kill her if she approached the police.

“My mother works as a maid in houses at Green Park locality. She often took me to help her. In 2012, when I was 16, I used to go Sagar’s house along with my mother. I came in contact with him. He started talking to me and even promised to marry me. He took advantage of me and raped me several times from 2012 to 2014,” Times of India quoted the woman as saying.

“He has ruined my life completely. Now, nobody will marry me. I tolerated all this hoping that one day he would marry me but now he is threatening to kill my family and me if I approached the police,” she added.

It may be worth mentioning here Sagar’s wedding has been fixed on June 17. His father, former BSP MLA Yogendra Sagar, has been in jail for raping a woman in 2008.

Meanwhile, Sagar denied the rape allegation by the woman and said that his political rivals, who had ruined his father’s political career, now wanted to spoil his reputation by hatching a conspiracy against him.

“This woman has already approached the police in 2014 and came to a compromise taking Rs 10 lakh from me. I have a copy of the written compromise. Now, all of a sudden she again levelled false allegations against me before my wedding that is scheduled next month. I am ready to face these charges and even a narco test. Let the probe be completed. Everything will become clear,” said the MLA.

The incident days after the alleged Unnao rape case made the headline where a girl accused BJP MLA Kuldeep Singh Sengar of raping her on the pretext of job. After the local police accused of shielding the lawmaker, the case was handed over to the CBI, which later arrested Sengar.
