The Lucknow Police on Friday arrested a Muslim man after he indulged in sloganeering while offering namaz on a busy road outside the secretariat office.
The Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath was holding a meeting inside the building when the incident took place.
In the video, which is going viral, a man dressed in white kurta and green turban is seen offering namaz on a busy road. He was also carrying knife around his shoulders.
After he finished his prayer, he raised slogans against PM Narendra Modi and in support of Rashtriya Janata Dal supremo Lalu Yadav.
The man, identified as Rafique Ahmad, is then seen getting up and leaving the place by his scooter.
The traffic remained highly impacted by his action.
After the video went viral, Lucknow’s Senior Superintendent of Police ordered the registration of an FIR against the man.
Cops present outside the secretariat were suspended for not taking action against him.
