Under-construction bridge collapses in UP's Saharanpur, 2 labourers killed

According to reports, the incident took places after an iron mesh broke away from the bridge and crushed eight workers underneath.

At least two labourer were killed and five others injured after a part of the under-construction bridge collapsed in Uttar Pradesh's Saharanpur. According to reports, the incident took places after an iron mesh broke away from the bridge and crushed eight workers underneath. 

The police and locals immediately launched the rescue operations. All eight affected where taken to a nearby hospital, where doctors declared two labourers dead on arrival, while others were provided medical attention. 

The bridge is being built over Paon Dhoi river by the Public Works Department. 

The deceased have been identified as Jaiveer, resident of Digora and Ramkumar, resident of Bhainsroli.
