BJP's Sudhanshu Trivedi and Congress' Manish Tewari were at the loggerheads at India TV's day-long conclave 'Vande Mataram' on Saturday. Manish Tewari alleged it was BJP's failure that resulted in attacks like Pulwama that claimed lives of 44 CRPF personnel. The Congress leader also blamed the government for trying to use airstrike against Pakistan for political gains.
Earlier today, Congress President Rahul Gandhi had alleged that PM was busy posing for cameras at the Corbett National Park when CRPF jawans were being killed in Jammu and Kashmir's Pulwama. Sudhanshu Trivedi, however, dismissed the allegation as baseless.
"We can still expect a new party like AAP raising questions, but not from Congress, a party which has ruled the nation for long," the BJP leader said.
Manish Tewari, on the other hand, too trained guns on Prime Minister Narendra Modi alleging that he did not pay tributes to the martyrs in the rally addressed by him after Pulwama attack.
"If you hear PM's speech, you will not find any mention of tribute to Pulwama martyrs," he said.
