Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Smriti Irani kept aside politics for some time and turned a gloating mother, as her son Zohr, who appeared for the CBSE Class 12 exam 2019, passed with flying colours.
The Union minister took to Twitter and wrote, "Ok saying it out loud— proud of my son Zohr..not only did he come back with a bronze medal from the World Kempo Championship also scored well in 12 th boards. Best of 4– 91% .. special yahoo for 94% in economics.. Maaf karna ,today I’m just a gloating Mom."
The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) announced the result of Class 12 examination on Thursday. Hansika Shukla and Karishma Arora were jointly declared toppers with 499 marks each.
This year, Trivandrum was the top performing region with a pass percentage of 98.2. Chennai stood second with a pass percentage of 92.93 and the Delhi region secured 91.87%.

On the political front, Smriti Irani has filed her nomination for Amethi constituency for Lok Sabha election 2019 on BJP ticket. She will be locking horns with Congress president Rahul Gandhi.
