A 55-year-old nun found dead inside a well in Mount Tabor Dayara Convent in Kollam's Pathanapuram. Police at the spot.
The body a nun was found inside a well at a convent in Mount Tabor Dayara Convent in Kollam district's Pathanapuram on Sunday. The body was identified as that of 54-year-old Susan, a nun who teaches at the St. Stephens School in Pathanapuram.
Blood stains were found from inside her room and near the well from where the body was found this morning, they added. According to a police official, they received information at around 9 am that the nun's body was found in the well.
Susan had been teaching at the school for the past 12 years.
Both the school and the Convent, is run by the Kottayam-headquartered Malankara Syrian Orthodox Church.
The cause of the death remains unknown.
Congress leader Bindu Krishna termed the death shocking.
"Blood stains were found inside her room and her hair was also found cut, according to reports," she claimed. An impartial probe is essential, she said.
