Senior Congress leader CK Jaffer Sharief passed away in a hospital in Bengaluru on Sunday. He was 85 years old.
He was an Indian politician from Karnataka.
He was the Railways Minister in the Government of India from 1991–95.
Jaffer Sharief started his career in the Indian National Congress under Nijalingappa. After a split in the Congress, he took the side of Indira Gandhi.
As a Member of Parliament he had spent the highest amount allocated for development under the MPLADS scheme along with Deve Gowda, former prime minister of India.
