Counting of votes for the Saran Lok Sabha constituency is nearing an end, and as expected Rajiv Pratap Rudy is set to register an astounding win over his nearest rival Chandrika Roy of RJD.
The Saran Lok Sabha Constituency of BIHAR state is currently held by Rajiv Pratap Rudy of BJP. In the 2014 Lok Sabha Elections, Rajiv Pratap Rudy beat Rabri Devi of RJD by receiving 41.10 per cent of the votes cast in this constituency.
The key candidates in the Saran constituency for Lok Sabha Elections 2019 are Rajiv Pratap Rudy of BJP and Chandrika Roy of RJD.
Saran is one of the constituencies in 40-seat Bihar. At the time of the previous Lok Sabha elections in 2014, Saran had 1,538,744 registered electors -- 833,361 of them male and 705,383 female. The constituency had seen a 56.10% voter turnout in the 2014 Lok Sabha elections. In Saran the male voter turnout was 54.11% and 58.45% female voters turned out for voting.
The Lok Sabha constituency went to polls in the fifth phase of the election -- on May 6 and recorded a voter turnout of 56.50 per cent.
The seven phases of the Lok Sabha polls 2019 covered a total of 543 constituencies. Voting in the first phase was conducted on April 11.
