A Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) worker was shot dead in Uttar Pradesh's Firozabad by two bike-borne assailants late on Tuesday. The RSS leader identified as Sandeep Sharma was the district environment chief of the organisation.
According to reports, Sharma was strolling outside his house when he was attacked. The RSS worker, who reportedly also had a property business, was rushed to a local hospital but could not be saved.
The police have initiated a probe into the murder case. No arrest has been made in the case so far. The police said that the motive behind the murder is yet to be ascertained.

"We have launched a search operation against the accused. They will be nabbed soon. Further details are being ascertained," Raja Srivastava, Inspector General of Police (IG) Agra Zone, told reporters.
