RSS backed Rashtriya Muslim Manch has planned to hoist flags at some madrassas across the country.

"Flag hoisting will be held all over the country. At some places the national song Vande Matram may also be sung along with raising Bharat Mata ki Jai slogan. It is going to be a mix of national anthem and national song at different places," President of RMM Indresh Kumar told TOI.

Kumar will be addressing a programme in a madrassa at Binaki Mangalwari in Nagpur. Probably for the first time, a RSS leader will be attending a function within a madrassa, the TOI report says.

They had no problems with a BJP functionary but RSS was certainly not welcome. Finally, a madrassa belonging to Bohra community agreed.

The Muslim body is also planning to launch a dedicated anti-terror cell  that will involve educated Muslims who will work on preventing the youth from joining radical forces like IS.

The RMM's move become crucial in the wake of  recent controversy in Allahabad where a private school barred students from singing the national anthem, Vande Mataram or Saraswati Vandana on the ground that they are “un-Islamic”.

"The national anthem has a line, ‘Bharat bhagya vidhata’, which is against Islam as Allah is our bhagya vidhata. How can we say Bharat has made our destiny,” he said. “In the national anthem, the country has been described as being bigger and more important than mazhab (religion) and khuda (god), which is unacceptable for any true Muslim,”  said Mohammad Zia-ul Haq, manager of Allahabad's M A Convent School.
