Ansari, a software engineer was arrested in Pakistan in 2012 for allegedly entering that country from Afghanistan to meet a woman he had fallen in love with after meeting them online. Ansari told reporters he wanted to meet the girl because she was in distress.
Before leaving for his home in Versova, Ansari told mediapersons at the airport he did make mistakes in the past.
Ansari talked about the three big lessons that he learnt from his experience.
His first lesson was restricting himself from any love-like relationship on social media and the other two lessons that he learnt were – never hide anything from your parents and never take illegal means to go to any place.
His jail term ended on December 15 but he was not able to leave for India as his legal documents were not ready.
Ansari had an emotional interaction with External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj on Wednesday as he narrated the difficult phase he went through in Pakistan.
