“Don't waste your and my time interrogating me. Just Google 'psycho killer Amit' and you will get all the answers” was the chilling statement from a 35-year-old man arrested by Bihar Police in connection with a bank robbery. As baffled as they were hearing his response, the police until now had no idea who they had laid their hands on.

For, the man’s history is one that looks lifted straight out of a Quentin Tarantino character – or better still – from an Anurag Kashyap flick. Identified as Avinash Srivastava alias Amit, the man that the Vaishali police arrested on Sunday for stealing cash from a bank, is an alleged psychopathic serial killer who has murdered at least 20 people in Patna, Vaishali and other districts of Bihar.

If that does not run a chill down your spine, hear this out. The accused did his MCA from the reputed Jamia Millia Islamia University in Delhi and then worked for a top IT company. All was going well for him until the murder of his father Lallan Srivastava, a former RJD MLC, in Patna in 2002.

It was here that his life took a drastic turn, one that made him acquire all the shades of gore and grey that one could possibly imagine or would have chanced upon on the silver screen. Following the murder if his father, Avinash joined a group of local gangsters with a resolve to go after the killers of his father.

In 2003, he got hold of one of the killers of his father and sprayed his body with 32 bullets – an act which he committed having drawn inspiration from the climax scene of ‘Gangs of Wasseypur-2’, one where the son pumps countless number of bullets into Ramadhir Singh to avenge his father’s murder.

“Avinash had pumped 32 bullets into the body of one Pappu Khan, who had killed his father. He turned into a serial killer after that. Four of his victims are those who were reportedly involved in his father's killing,” said Vaishali SP Rakesh Kumar.

He was held by Vaishali District police while cutting the main shutter of Central Bank of India in Vaishali. Avinash had earlier served three years in jail for robbery and was released on bail March this year.

During the interrogation, he claimed that he has so far killed five out the six men involved in his father’s murder and a few names are still left.

The self-proclaimed cold-blooded murderer admits of having committed at least 20 murders. Avinash says he makes sure he is dressed in blue while committing any crime.
