In a surprise development, interim Chairman of Tata Sons Ratan Tata today arrived in Nagpur to meet Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) Chief Mohan Bhagwat.
According to reports, Tata, at 1 PM, reached Hedgewar Smruti Mandir at Reshimbagh Ground where stayed for some time. He was accompanied by BJP spokesperson Shaina NC.
Later at 3 PM, Tata reached the RSS headquarters and held a closed-door meeting with Bhagwat for 25 minutes.
“Ratan Tata reaches RSS HQ to meet RSS Sarsanghchalak Mohan Bhagwat,” new agency ANI reported.
Details of the closed-door meeting at the RSS headquarters were not immediately available, but the timing of Tata’s meet with the RSS Chief has set tongues wagging.
Sources said that Tata reportedly discussed the ongoing tussle with the ex-Tata Sons chief Cyrus Mistry and demonetisation.
Tata Sons is currently locked in a bitter corporate-cum-legal battle with its former chairman, Cyrus Mistry, who was sacked from the post two months ago.
Mistry, who succeeded Tata, was removed even before he could settle his foot in the company affairs properly.
Tata (79) had retired as Chairman of Tata Sons in December 2012.
