Home Minister Rajnath Singh is likely to be among the first few pilgrims this year at the cave shrine of Amarnath in Jammu and Kashmir when it reopens for public on June 29.
Besides him, Jammu and Kashmir Governor N N Vohra and Union home secretary Rajiv Mehrishi are likely to pay obeisance at the shrine on the first day of the over a month-long pilgrimage, official sources said.
The shrine is situated at an altitude of 12,756 feet and about 141 km from Srinagar. The pilgrimage will begin on June 29 and conclude on August 7.
More than 27,000 security personnel will be deployed along the route during the pilgrimage to the high-altitude shrine dedicated to Lord Shiva.
