Today’s development assumes significance because Yadav had sought voluntary retirement from his service, which was rejected the BSF earlier. The dismissal may affect the pension of the jawan.

BSF dismisses Tej Bahadur Yadav for breach of discipline

Expelled Border Security Force (BSF) trooper Tej Bahadur Yadav today said that he will move the High Court to challenge his dismissal from the service.

“I have been dismissed from service, will now appeal in High Court. Hope I get justice, I have full faith in judiciary. This is what happens when you say the truth. Happening for years now,” he said.

Earlier in the day, the BSF today dismissed Yadav for breach of discipline. Yadav, who has served for nearly 20 years in the armed forces, had in January stirred a row after he shared videos on social media alleging poor quality of food being served to jawans and corruption in the system.

He had even claimed that soldiers are sometimes forced to sleep without a meal.

Today’s development assumes significance because Yadav had sought voluntary retirement from his service, which was rejected the BSF earlier. The dismissal may affect the pension of the jawan.

Yadav (40) belonged to the BSF’s 29th battalion. Yadav was posted in Jammu and Kashmir's Samba area when he had aired the videos.

Yadav’s clips of substandard food had triggered an uproar with government ordering a probe into the foods served to jawans.

Sharmila Devi, Yadav’s wife, termed the BSF’s decision wrong and demanded that the dismissal be cancelled.
