A fire broke out at a cloth godown in Pune’s Uruli Devachi village in the early hours of Thursday.
According to an official of Pune Police (Rural), the fire was reported at around 5 a.m., when the workers were asleep in a room above the shop located in the Devachi Urli area on the outskirts of the city, reported IANS.
Four fire tenders were rushed to the spot. Flames were brought under control.
Five labourers died in the fire. Injured were rushed to a hospital. Reason for the fire is yet to be ascertained.
