New Delhi: Having faltered for having wished Afghanistan President Ashraf Ghani months ahead of his actual birthday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi today took to Twitter to wish Ghani on his 67th birthday, with a note stating that he had “got it right this time”.
The last time around on February 12, Modi had mistakenly wished the Afghani President and ended up getting mocked on social media.
He wished President Ghani a "long life and exceptional health and a joyful journey ahead".
President Ghani thanked him for his "gracious words" but gently corrected him, saying his birthday falls on May 19 and not February 12.
“@narendramodi Greetings from Munich Mr. PM. Although, my Birthday is on 19th May, but I’d still like to thank you for your gracious words :),” Ghani had tweeted.
Today with PM Modi correcting his mistake, his tweet has over 600 re-tweets and nearly 2,000 likes in two hours.
