Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated and laid the foundation stone of various development projects worth Rs 33,000 crore in Bihar's Barauni in the Begusarai district today. He also addressed a public meeting at Ulao airport premises in Barauni shortly.
He laid the foundation of ambitious Patna Metro Rail Project at a cost of Rs 13,366 crore. Recently, the Centre had given its nod to the project which comprises 31 Kms long stretch of elevated, underground and surface rail route, with two corridors and 11 stations.
These projects will enhance connectivity, especially in the city of Patna and nearby areas. They will significantly augment the availability of energy in the city and the region. The projects will also boost fertilizer production, and significantly enhance medical, and sanitation facilities in Bihar.
The prime minister also spoke about the recent Pulwama attack, which claimed the lives of 40 CRPF jawans. Bihar lost two sons in the terror attack.
The funerals of CRPF personnel Sanjay Kumar Sinha and Ratan Kumar Thakur, who were killed in the Pulwama terrorist attack witnessed a massive outpouring of grief and outrage in Patna and Bhagalpur on Saturday.
