Prime Minister Narendra Modi has, in order to tackle the issues of rising unemployment and economic slowdown in the country, constituted two high level Cabinet Committees.
The first Budget of the Modi government 2.0 will be presented on July 5, 2019.
A total of eight Cabinet committees have been constituted -- Appointments Committee of the Cabinet, Cabinet Committee on Accommodation, Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs, Cabinet Committee on Parliamentary Affairs, Cabinet Committee on Political Affairs, Cabinet Committee on Security, Cabinet Committee on Investment and Growth and Cabinet Committee on Employment and Skill Development.
The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs and the Cabinet Committee on Employment and Skill Development will deal are the major two panels. This is the first time that such committees have been set up.
The unemployment rate in 2017-18 was 6.1 per cent, corroborating the leaked report, before the Lok Sabha election, which claimed joblessness was indeed at a 45-year high.
