Prime Minister Narendra Modi celebrated his 68th birthday with school students in Varanasi on Monday, during his two-day visit. The charismatic leader, who had a "lively discussion" with the young students, advised them to "never feel afraid to ask questions".
During the first leg of the visit, PM Modi met children from a primary school in Naraur village, located in the Kashi Vidyapeeth Block of Varanasi district.
Speaking to youngsters at a school in Naraur, the prime minister also urged them to give importance to sports and asked them to "go out and play."
After Naraur, he will head to Diesel Locomotive Works (DLW) guest house to spend the rest of the day with children of his adopted villages- Jayapur, Nagepur and Kakrahia. The prime minister will also attend a special screening of 'Chalo Jeete Hain'- a movie inspired by his life along with the children. He is likely to lay foundation of the ambitious Kashi Vishwanath Corridor Project on the occasion of his birthday.
The Prime Minister is also likely to launch several developmental projects - including the expansion of the Babatpur-Shivpur road, Ring Road phase I and a few projects at the Banaras Hindu University during his visit to Varanasi.

On Tuesday, PM Modi will inaugurate or lay the foundation of various development projects, cumulatively worth more than Rs 500 crore, according to a statement by the prime minister's office (PMO). The event will be held at the amphitheatre of Banaras Hindu University (BHU).
Among the projects to be inaugurated by Modi are Integrated Power Development Scheme (IPDS) for Puraani Kashi, Atal Incubation Centre and the Regional Ophthalmology Centre at BHU.
BJP workers have planned elaborate celebrations on the day. Party workers have suggested that the day will start with them worshipping Lord Shiva at an ancient temple in Naraur village.

To mark Modi's birthday, medical camps will be setup at 68 locations across the district and 68 major spots will be illuminated with lamps.
Special prayer services will also be held in 68 temples in the district for the well-being of the Prime Minister.
