The Jammu and Kashmir Police on Friday arrested PDP MLA Aijaz Ahmad Mir’s driver in connection with the Amarnath Yatra terror attack that led to the killing of seven pilgrims.
Aijaz Ahmad Mir’s driver Touseef Ahmad Wani, a resident of Pulwama district, was arrested by Kulgam police.
Aijaz Ahmad Mir is an MLA from Wachi constituency in Shopian district and Wani had joined as his driver around seven months back.
Prior to that, Wani was part of the security wing of Jammu and Kashmir police.
According to J&K police’s IG Muneer Kahn, Wani is cooperating and sharing information.
He is being interrogated in connection with some other terror-related cases as well.
PTI quoted its sources as saying that two other people, suspected to be overground workers for militants, have also been detained for questioning.
