Bharatiya Janata Party's Ravi Shankar Prasad was leading over Congress' Shatrughan Sinha from Patna Sahib with a margin of 144249 votes, on Thursday. 

Patna Sahib Lok Sabha constituency

Patna Sahib is one of the 40 Lok Sabha constituencies in Bihar. The constituency is located in Patna district in Bihar. The Voter-verified paper audit trail (VVPAT) system with EVMs was used for the first time in this Lok Sabha constituency in 2014 elections.

Key candidates:

A clash of titans is on the cards in Patna Sahib where Shatrughan Sinha is seeking to retain the seat for a third consecutive term, this time on a Congress ticket, surmounting a formidable challenge posed by Union minister Ravi Shankar Prasad.

Voter turnout in 2014 Lok Sabha election:

The constituency has seen a 43.10 % voter turnout in the 2019 Lok Sabha election.

The constituency had seen a 45.33 % voter turnout in the 2014 Lok Sabha election.

The constituency had seen a 33.64 % voter turnout in the 2009 Lok Sabha election.

The general election was held in seven phases from 11 April to 19 May 2019 to constitute the 17th Lok Sabha. Counting of votes is underway and the results will be declared by the end of the day.

Legislative Assembly elections in the states of Andhra Pradesh, Arunachal Pradesh, Odisha and Sikkim were also held simultaneously with the general election.
