One person suspected to be involved in sabotage of trains in the country was arrested today from Bihar's Begusarai district, police said.
The suspect was arrested from Cheriabariarpur police station area of Begusarai following a tip off, Superintendent of Police R K Mishra said.
The man was arrested from Manjhaul Bazar locality following and a railway map and four mobile phones were seized from him, he said.
The arrested man originally from Faizabad in Uttar Pradesh but was living in Cheriabariarpur police station area after marrying a local girl.
The ATS has joined interrogation of the man held in Begusarai, the SP said.
Recent arrest of three persons having links with ISI operative Shamsul Hoda brought to light the sabotage angle of train accidents including the one involving Indore Patna Express in November last year in which 150 passengers were killed.
At least 39 people were killed after nine coaches of Hirakhand Express derailed near Kuneru station in Andhra Pradesh on January 21.
On January 23, Prabhu had written to Home Minister Rajnath Singh seeking a detailed probe by the NIA into the flurry of train mishaps and listed six incidents of “possibility of criminal interference by outsiders”.
