Noida: A 29 year old woman is battling for life in the ICU of Lok Nayak Jai Prakash Hospital of Delhi after she was stabbed for 32 times by her live-in partner.
The incident took place at her apartment in Noida Sec-73 when the woman had an argument with her partner Varun Goyal, a gym trainer in Ghaziabad, after he refused to marry her, reports say.
"They were living together in the woman's apartment in Sector 73 since the past one year. On Tuesday night, the two allegedly had an argument regarding their marriage. Apparently, the woman was pressurizing him for marriage and Varun was not ready for that," police officer told TOI.
According to police, the two of them came to know each other when the woman started visiting his gym.
Dinesh Yadav, station officer of Sector 49 police station area told TOI, "On Tuesday night, the woman had an argument with Varun, after which he attacked her as many as 32 times with a kitchen knife and ran away. Her neighbours, who heard her screaming, rushed to the spot and informed the police."
He added, the woman, who belongs to Gorakhpur district, has been estranged from her husband for over six years.
Police have registered an FIR at Noida Sec-49 Police station under IPC Sections 307( attempt to murder) 326 ( voluntarily causing grievous hurt by dangerous weapons or means) and 452 ( house trespass)after preparation for hurt assault or wrongful restraint) has been registered .
Police said they informed her brother about the incident, who lodged a complaint against Varun.
