Two security guards were as they foiled a loot attempt at a Punjab National Bank (PNB) branch in Noida on Friday. The incident took place in Sector 1 branch of PNB.
The criminals opened fire after being challenged by the brave security guards. The two guards were injured but stood their ground forcing the attackers to flee from the spot.
The injured guards were rushed to a local hospital, however, they succumbed to their injuries. The deceased have been identified as Mudrika Prasad, around 50, and Mukesh, around 35, according to a police official.
The bodies have been sent for post mortem, said the official from Sector 20 police station, which is probing the matter.
A forensic science team is inspecting the bank to get any clue about the attackers. The police is yet to make any arrest in the case.
